SMART Personal Goal Setting Guidelines
I came across an article on this popular 'success technique' several years ago (I still use it to this day) and found it to be an indispensable tool for achieving my own weight loss goal. I’m sharing it with you because it’s simple, it helps keep you focused, and more importantly, it’s effective. I suggest you keep it alongside your
diet journal
and your exercise log to help you keep your eye on the ultimate prize, so to speak. Once you’re comfortable with the process, you can apply these guidelines to any area of your life, but for now we'll focus on losing belly fat. Personally, I keep a few SMART plans going consecutively…it helps me better manage and prioritize my time and keeps me focused on my goals and what I want to ultimately achieve. Be sure to write down and itemize each of your personal goals using the SMART personal goal setting guidelines - and yes, it's important to put it in writing. Writing them down on paper solidifies and internalizes the ideas in your mind. It also gives you a measure of sorts that’s permanently recorded that you can come back to.
