Recently another study on Chromium Picolinate for weight loss was brought to my attention and I wanted to share it with you. Did you know that Chromium Picolinate may be the best weight loss supplement for helping to control and even stop food craving? Chromium is a trace mineral that can be found in foods like brewer’s yeast, pork kidney, lean meats, cheese, tomatoes, spinach, peppers, apples, bananas and whole-grain breads. Although it’s known to play an important role in the metabolism of protein, fats and carbs, our body doesn’t absorb it very well.

In a Louisiana State University study researchers found that women who supplemented with 1,000 mcg of chromium picolinate every day for eight weeks reduced their food intake by an incredible 25%! The women who were given a placebo decreased their food intake by only 8%. Both groups in the study were said to have experienced less food cravings, especially for carbohydrate, sweets and high fat foods over the course of the study. However the women who were supplementing with Chromium Picolinate reduced their cravings for high fat food to a far greater extent than those who were taking the placebo. Although this particular study on using Chromium Picolinate for weight loss wasn’t conclusive, the researchers stated that the results were very promising and more studies will be needed to confirm the results.

It seems so. It’s been shown to be especially effective in helping to curb appetite; natural appetite suppressants.
